On-site water purification and reusable-bottle specialist Bluedrop Water has partnered with Boomerang Water to offer hotels, resorts, and mixed-use hospitality properties a fully integrated, closed-loop hydration program — covering purification, custom-branded bottling, premium refill stations, and bottle-return receptacles for cleaning and sanitization.
The program is already operational at Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, where the deployment reduced reliance on single-use packaging and, according to the property's Director of Marketing Evan Breckenridge, delivered "a better guest experience and a more efficient, cost-effective operation."
How the System Works
Bluedrop supplies the on-site water filtration and purification backbone, while Boomerang contributes its advanced bottling infrastructure and custom-branded reusable glass and aluminum bottle program. Guests refill their Boomerang bottles at Bluedrop's premium refill stations distributed throughout the property; used bottles are returned to Boomerang receptacles to be cleaned, sanitized, and refilled — completing the closed loop. The combined footprint is designed to cover the full guest journey, from check-in areas and guest rooms to food-and-beverage outlets and staff zones.
For operators managing prep-and-storage infrastructure or undergoing back-of-house buildouts, the integration of a property-wide water-purification backbone can consolidate what are often fragmented water-supply arrangements — point-of-use filters scattered across kitchen, bar, and banquet stations — into a single, serviceable system with measurable ESG reporting outputs.
Operator and Channel Implications
The partnership positions both companies to address growing pressure on hospitality operators to eliminate single-use plastic. Properties pursuing LEED certification, ENERGY STAR portfolio scores, or voluntary carbon-reduction commitments can leverage the program's built-in waste-reduction and carbon-impact data for ESG reporting. Jason Dibble, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Boomerang Water, described the alliance as enabling properties to "elevate service while advancing sustainability goals" — a pairing that resonates with luxury and upscale segments where branded water programs have traditionally relied on single-use glass bottles shipped in at significant cost and carbon expense.
Brendan Dickinson, President and CEO of Bluedrop Water, noted that hospitality leaders are increasingly expected to deliver premium guest experiences alongside measurable environmental impact reduction, and that the combined refill-station network and closed-loop bottling program addresses both demands simultaneously.
The program includes installation, ongoing maintenance, and dedicated account support across the United States and Caribbean, making it accessible to resort operators in both domestic and island markets. For ice-and-beverage equipment specifiers already evaluating water-quality infrastructure — filtration ahead of ice makers, carbonated-beverage dispensers, and espresso systems — the Bluedrop purification layer merits consideration as part of a broader water-treatment strategy on new builds and renovations.
Operators and consultants interested in a site assessment can contact either company directly to evaluate scope and qualifying criteria.
