New Appliance Targets Health-Conscious Home Cooks Magnifique has launched the Claypot Rice Cooker, an appliance designed around uncoated kaolin clay rather than the chemical-treated metal inner pots common in conventional rice cookers. The cooker retails for $239.99 and comes in Oatmeal and Sage colorways. The device is crafted entirely from naturally non-toxic, uncoated kaolin clay with no ceramic coatings, PFAS, PTFE, or applied non-stick finishes. According to the brand, the clay's natural properties absorb and distribute heat evenly, eliminating hot spots and producing fluffier rice while retaining moisture.

Fuzzy Logic Controls Temperature and Steam The cooker pairs the clay construction with what Magnifique calls "advanced Fuzzy Logic technology," which monitors temperature, steam, and moisture throughout the cooking cycle and automatically adjusts heat and cooking time. It features a dual clay lid system designed to retain heat and moisture for flavor development. The 5-cup capacity (uncooked) can prepare rice, congee, soups, and stews. The cooking surface is dishwasher safe. "At Magnifique, we've always believed consumers shouldn't have to choose between health and performance," said Kevin Lu, co-founder of Magnifique. "With the Claypot Rice Cooker, we're bringing rice back to the way nature intended it to be cooked by pairing one of the world's oldest cooking materials with modern intelligent technology."

Market Context

The launch expands Magnifique's clay-based appliance lineup, which includes a Combo Air Fryer and Claypot Multi-Cooker. The brand competes in the premium non-toxic cookware segment, where consumers increasingly scrutinize chemical coatings and manufacturing standards in kitchen equipment.

Why It Matters

Retailers and foodservice operators tracking consumer demand for non-toxic kitchenware will note the market's continued shift toward chemical-free cooking surfaces. The rice cooker's multi-use design—handling rice, congee, soups, and stews—positions it as a versatile appliance for both household and small-format institutional use.
