Restaurant back-of-house software provider Decision Logic has released two new products — Vitals and ShiftFlow — designed to give multi-unit restaurant managers real-time operational visibility and a consolidated mobile task queue, eliminating the lag between a problem developing on the floor and a manager learning about it in tomorrow's report.

What Vitals Delivers

Vitals surfaces 34 near-real-time metrics organized across four operational categories: 14 performance metrics, 11 labor metrics, five productivity metrics, and four adjustment-risk metrics. The dashboard tracks whether sales are pacing against forecast, whether labor spend is aligned with schedule, whether any employee is approaching overtime, and whether voids or discounts are trending outside normal ranges. The intent is to convert routine POS and scheduling data into an early-warning system that triggers action while a manager can still change the outcome — not after close. At launch, Vitals integrates with Toast and Qu POS platforms, with additional integrations on the roadmap.

ShiftFlow Targets Manager Turnover

ShiftFlow addresses a persistent back-of-house operations challenge: with 28% of restaurant managers turning over annually, institutional knowledge about shift execution walks out the door with each departure. The mobile-first tool structures shift work into a documented, repeatable workflow rather than leaving new managers to reconstruct processes from paper checklists, text threads, and tribal memory. At launch, ShiftFlow supports nine task types — including scheduled orders, inventories, line checks, maintenance requests, closing activities, manager reminders, and notification reminders. Tasks can be generated automatically from existing schedules, pushed down from above-store leadership, or created ad hoc by managers on the floor. ShiftFlow runs without a POS dependency, broadening its compatibility across operator tech stacks.

Channel and Operator Implications

For operators running commissary or multi-unit concepts where above-store visibility is critical, the combination of Vitals and ShiftFlow creates a closed loop: leadership can see how individual locations are performing in near real time and push tasks directly into a manager's workflow queue. Operators specifying back-of-house management platforms alongside capital equipment investments will recognize that labor cost control and food cost variance — two metrics Vitals tracks — are the same levers that drive ROI calculations on equipment like combi ovens, blast chillers, and high-efficiency warewashing lines.

"Vitals answers, 'How are we doing?' ShiftFlow answers, 'What needs to happen next?'" said Keegan Conrey, CEO of Decision Logic. "Put those together and you give managers a much better chance to change the outcome of a shift instead of explaining the outcome after it's over."

Both products are available now, with beta customers already live. Decision Logic will demonstrate Vitals and ShiftFlow at the FSTEC 2026 conference. Current operator partners include 54th Street Restaurants, RibCrib BBQ, Golden Corral, Taco John's, and Twin Peaks.
